My favorite things...

Hey gang, Jesse James here, you remember, I'm the good looking one with the nice bum. I felt it was time to share alittle more about myself. As I mentioned before mice are "my thing"...love em'. But honestly, I have to admit one of my favorite things is "laundry night" or "changing the sheets night".....ew la la. Dad has a huge laundry basket that he fills to the top. When it's all clean and warm from the dryer he carries it upstairs and sorts it in the living room. (hope this isn't T.M.I.)With in 5 seconds of that basket hitting the floor I'm in it.....and I'm diggin' a hole....it's so warm and cushy in there, I stay there for a long time thus holding up the whole folding of the laundry.....(Dad pretends to be annoyed, but he loves it!)
Mom and Dad try to sneak into the bedroom to change the bed without me knowing but I always know. Actually Dad prefers I tag along as he laughs and laughs at my antics while Mom worries that my claws are putting holes in the sheets. You see, my mission in this situation is to get under the bottom sheet, lay on my back, and when they yell "TENT" I kick all 4 paws up in the air and they tickle my toes.....my claws automatically come out, it's a cat thing.....
I suppose in general I just like to be under blankets and such. Wrap me in a fleece blanket and I look like ET. A warm pair of jeans out of the dryer layed out flat mean I can wriggle down the pant leg and look out the end....
It's very snuggly and cozy....like me......what can I say.....I'm adorable......

Our week in a nutshell.....

Hey, Baby Thomas here....how ya doin'? So another week sped by.....it becomes a blur or sleeping, playing, eating, sleeping, sleeping, and of course......sleeping.....Mom and Dad had a brilliant idea! "Let's cut the boy's nails", they said in a half whisper so as to not scare us out of the room.....I can always tell when it's nail cutting time because Dad walks towards me saying all kinds of really nice soothing things then he scoops me up like an eagle at a mouse festival and holds me tight so Mom can do the dirty work.....I decided that this time was going to be different.....I was going to put on my big boy pants and take it like a man, and it wasn't that bad! I was done in no time and then I was rewarded with treats.....Mom and Dad praised me over and over for being such a good boy......now Jesse on the other hand......not a fan of the manicure/pedicure.....his back feet are out of bounds and that's that! All in all it went well and we're both looking spiffy now!

Jesse James here....Thomas is such a tattle tail......."oh....Jesse hates his pedicure....oh....oh....". Brothers are a pain in the magnificent #%!  I've been busy this week ensuring that Mom and Dad get equal attention from me because I'm so good looking and they love me so much....it's a tough job wandering back and forth from the chair to the couch over and over again spreading the love.....I have to admit I like to stop on the couch and knead that ever so cushy micro fleece blanket....it makes me happy.....other than that things have been fairly quiet around here....more to come......meow.....

The first Blog from our two cats.....

Hello and Welcome to Mrs. Dolittle's Pet Care blog.....

I'd like to take this time to introduce my lovely pet pals to our two cats and let you know alittle about what their life is like with us (Cory and Doug)....
We adopted our two litter mates when they were nine months old....they are tabby cats who look very much alike hence the nickname "the bookends"....
They turned 3 years old this past June so needless to say they're full of energy!
Their names are Thomas and Jesse James and if they could blog this is how they would describe themselves....

Hi, I'm Thomas and I'm a Momma's Boy....my nicknames are Baby Thomas, Rinkydink, Monkey Boy and Pissy Pants which is what I do when I'm nervous in the car or going camping...I was leash trained as a kitten so I do enjoy long walks on the beach, string and yarn balls and pipe cleaners. I'm nervous of new people and I don't like to be picked up....my brother doesn't either but we both love to cuddle and I spend alot of time head butting my mom and kneading the blanket in her lap. I enjoy bird watching and crows make me chirp more than other birds. We do go camping in the family travel trailer which is AWESOME because I go for walks in the woods every day but I hate the drive to the campsite. I like to sleep sitting up and my favorite thing to do at home is to go in the garage and get in my mom's car. Jesse and I sleep in it if we can or we just stand on the roof or hood. I guess we just try to get as many paw prints on mom's car as we can....I like chicken but not seafood which makes dad mad because they're last cat Emmy loved fish and they fly fish for trout all the time....yuk......

Hi I'm Jesse James and I love my dad....mom's okay to.....dad and I share breakfast every morning before he goes to work. My nicknames are Jesse, Jes, Humpy Hump, Deddy Dames and Big Deddy...I'm told I'm very handsome and I have to admit....I am......I love my bum petted and I love to stick my bum in your face because it's magnificent! You should see it! I LOVE mice of all kinds, fake and real. I spend my days stuffing toy mice in every closet and under every door in the house. I have stashes of mice under chairs and ottomans in our house. It's kind of a hobby I guess....I love to sleep between my mom and dad or at dad's feet. I enjoy waking them up early in the morning with a kiss....they love it......not wait.....they don't....anyway I also enjoy going camping and my favorite thing to do is find a large hot rock to lay on in the sunshine. I've been known to catch real mice that have sneaked into our trailer for which mom is very thankful! Thomas and I love each other alot and we wrestle the days away here with Mr. and Mrs. Dolittle.....more to come....
